Guiding Your Musical Journey
Grace learned to play piano at age 4 and violin at age 5. She has been playing for over 20 years and teaching for over a decade. She brings all of this experience, plus a love for teaching, to make learning music fun and achievable.
Each lesson involves an element of learning and theory, but the majority of the class is spent putting that theory into practice. I frequently play duets with my students to provide a collaborative and fun experience.
Each student gets individual, personalized attention and a course of study to meet them where they're at.
The First Lesson
We can't wait to meet you! At your first 30-minute lesson, Ms. Grace will begin by getting to know you and help you feel more comfortable for the lesson. A lot of this first lesson is getting to know each other and helping you figure out what to expect from each lesson.
We will also use this first time together to decide which book you will use. The curriculum will depend on your instrument of choice as well as previous experience.
Once we've gotten to know each other a bit and picked out book materials, we'll spend the next 25 minutes learning the basics OR evaluating what all the student knows if this isn't their first time playing their instrument.
We'll wrap up this lesson with an email detailing the information you need to purchase books and any assignments that need to be practiced before the next week.
